iTWO costX Supports Digital SPON’S Rate Library Data

RIB Software is pleased to announce that SPON’S cost data is now available to use in iTWO costX. In cooperation with global infrastructure consulting firm AECOM, who produce the UK-focused SPON’S price books using their industry-leading construction price data, iTWO costX users can now licence SPON’S libraries directly from RIB via a subscription agreement, making the rates available within the software for direct application into cost plans and automating future price updates.

Supported data includes all priced works and approximate rates from SPON’S Architects and Builders, Mechanical and Electrical, Civil and Highways and External Works and Landscaping books. This allows market-sourced labour, plant and material rates to be applied to iTWO costX estimates. The SPON’S price books, authored by AECOM, are regularly refreshed with data obtained from suppliers and market tenders. This information is cross-referenced against inflation measures produced by AECOM’s Construction Economics team and updated to incorporate new construction standards and techniques, ensuring it is always up to date to provide more accurate estimates for the UK construction industry.

“Having now been under our authorship for over 40 years, we are proud of the reputation these SPON’S books have gained within the industry. We’re delighted to see them taken to the next level by making the data available in the dynamic tools required by modern cost planning, ensuring they remain the go-to source for reliable benchmark information.” says Brian Smith, AECOM’s UK&I Head of Cost Management and Commercial.

“SPON’S is widely regarded as one of the de-facto authorities on construction costs so we are delighted to have been able to collaborate with AECOM to make this content available to our users. Here at RIB we are passionate about continuing to deliver value for our clients, and our SPON’S support is yet another reason why iTWO costX is the leading estimating solution for UK cost consultants.” notes Steve Dousie, RIB Software Managing Director EMEA.
