QUT introduces CostX as part of its official course

The Queensland University of Technology (QUT) has introduced CostX® into the curriculum of its Construction Management and Quantity Surveying courses.

The introduction in Semester II, 2005 marks the first generation of tertiary students who will be proficient with the latest in estimation technology and industry practices, and reflects QUT’s commitment to maintaining a curriculum in line with advances in the field.

As the number of major firms embracing CostX® technology continues to rise, CostX® is recognised as an integral tool for the future of the quantity surveying and estimation industries. Through QUT’s construction courses, today’s students will be equipped with cutting edge software skills that will give them a competitive edge when entering tomorrow’s job market.

Exactal is committed to ensuring the accessibility of its software to university students and is offering software licenses to students free of charge, as well as dedicated technical support resources, under the a new educational software licensing scheme.

Since its implementation into QUT’s curriculum, other leading universities have also begun to introduce similar CostX® training into their construction management courses.
