Rebrand FAQ
Our New Brand Identity : Questions You May Have
Why has the company name changed to RIB?
Exactal had been a 100% subsidiary of RIB Software SE since early 2018. When we first became an RIB Software company, we wanted to ensure there was a smooth transition and allay any fears that our clients may have about new ownership.
Our company has grown from strength to strength in the past two and a half years, and we continue to operate under the same principles, goals and values that we always have. We now think that enough time has passed to set minds at ease, so we’re choosing to align ourselves more clearly with our parent company.
Why is the software now called iTWO costX®?
iTWO is the name given to RIB Software’s flagship 5D BIM enterprise platform, which forms the basis of the MTWO Complete Construction Cloud. This fully-integrated construction management platform is designed for entire project lifecycles, aiding companies looking to speed up their digital transformation.
As CostX® can now be implemented as part of this enterprise solution, the product has been rebranded to iTWO costX® to align more clearly with the RIB Software range. You can follow this link to learn more about MTWO and the RIB Partner solutions that can be integrated within the cloud platform.
In the past, CostX® has been commonly used as an all-in-one takeoff and estimating solution, by QS, estimators and cost consultants worldwide. There will be no changes in this regard and no loss of features or functionality. You will still be working with the same product; just with a new name, branding and a slightly different colour scheme.
If you’re a current user, the branding of your software will not automatically change. Clients under maintenance can now upgrade to Version 6.9 of iTWO costX® by visiting iTWO costX® TechWeb.
I’m a client who pays for annual licence maintenance. Does this change affect me?
Not at all! It’s business as usual for all of our clients, and our roadmap for the software remains unchanged. We are still fully committed to the long-term development and evolution of iTWO costX®, to suit the needs of quantity surveyors and estimators worldwide.
Continued improvement of our software range will remain our primary focus, but we will also have new opportunities to promote the RIB suite worldwide. In a global industry striving for greater productivity and efficiency, we think there is huge potential for the kind of digital transformation that is supported by RIB solutions.
Will I have to deal with different consultants/support staff than I am used to?
No, there have been zero staffing changes among our global teams due to this rebrand. You’ll still be able to count upon the same great service standards you always have! If you’re a current client, your regular local sales team will be in touch to let you know about any new email or web addresses that are relevant to you. Our phone numbers remain the same, and all your usual correspondence will be redirected to our new email addresses.
Will iTWO costX® still be available to students as part of the Educational Program?
Yes! We remain committed to educating the future generations of construction, and believe that digital fluency is now more important than ever for our industry. If you’re a tertiary educator teaching in a relevant field, click here to learn more about our free Education Program for your students.
With all of this talk about digital and web-based solutions, will I be able to use iTWO costX® in the cloud going forward?
Watch this space! Web-based workflows are a high priority for many QS and estimating professionals, especially with so many people now working from home regularly. We’re excited to tell you more about what we have planned for those who want a fully-hosted version of their favourite estimating software!
I’m a current CostX Benchmark user. What do these changes mean for me and my team?
CostX Benchmark has been rebranded as iTWO benchmark. You might notice some minor visual changes the next time you login, such as a different colour scheme, but the platform remains exactly the same as ever. We’re committed to maintaining the same high standards for uptime and security, and will continue to regularly add new functionalities to the web-based platform as we move forward.
Who should I contact if I want more information?
If you have more specific enquiries about these changes, don’t hesitate to reach out to your local RIB office through our contact page. We’re happy to take your calls or any online enquiries.
As ever, current clients under maintenance can log into our Support Portal for any technical queries.
