The Project
The decision to use CostX® was a natural step for us. We were using Revit and Excel® originally, but to help us reduce the time spent on each project, we decided to switch to CostX®.
The Outcome
We have implemented CostX® in the QS department, in the design and Tender stage for cost estimate and Tender documents. It has provided many benefits, particularly in the development of our BIM capabilities. We have more advantages for quantification, and there’s also plenty of great features in the BIM interface including the ability for users to add data to the model. Now, we’re planning to reduce our Excel® use so we’re only using CostX®, in post-contract as well as pre-contracts, so we can simulate the performance of the building with respect to its construction cost.
