The Project
The basic requirement was to minimize the time spent on the pre contact activities, including change management procedures, while increasing the level of accuracy.
The Outcome
We have purchased 3 standalone licences and 1 portable licence. Then the resource allocation for the pre contract quantity surveying activities was limited to 2-3 numbers for a medium to large scale project. As a result of that, we have achieved successful time targets and higher level of accuracy for;
- Area calculations,
- Change management during pre-contract stage,
- Taking off measurements,
- Compiling BOQs,
- Use of reports and records.
With the use of CostX® 2D for over a 4 year period, we have decided to proceed further with 1 licence for CostX® to get the maximum benefit of time, cost and quality.
