CostX® & Azure

Exactal is pleased to advise that, with the release of CostX® 6.7, CostX® is now able to be deployed via Microsoft Azure in several ways .

Azure provides a comprehensive set of cloud services that developers and IT professionals use to build, deploy and manage applications through a global network of data centres.

With Azure compatibility, and Citrix Ready certification, CostX® can be accessed through a web browser interface or Citrix receiver application from any remote device. Citrix XenApp Essentials is a fast and easy way to securely deliver CostX® from Microsoft Azure to any device, and the Citrix and Microsoft combination delivers an integrated experience that simplifies the configuration. Additionally, there is a single interface to design, deploy and deliver the virtualised CostX® application from Azure with Citrix components managed by the Citrix Cloud. Comprehensive documentation for running CostX® using Citrix XenApp Essentials on Azure is available for users under maintenance.

With the CostX® Server also deployed on Azure and connected to the CostX® client deployed via Citrix XenApp, or other deployment methods, this provides a turnkey solution in the Azure Cloud.

Additionally, CostX® 6.7 fully supports native cloud storage for drawing files hosted in Microsoft OneDrive, including both 2D plans and 3D models.

Further to the above, Exactal is a member of the Microsoft Partner Network. This allows closer collaboration and continued support for desktop, server and cloud platforms now and in the future.

Chief Technology Officer Adam Lipinski states “With CostX®’s support for Microsoft Azure, even more initiatives resulting from our strategic technical review are realised. With the prevalence of Microsoft in the industry and prominence of the Azure cloud platform, we knew it would be a key requirement for clients to be able to run CostX® in the Cloud on Microsoft Azure. We’re pleased to announce its addition to our already comprehensive cloud provider line-up.”
